Learned a lot about being creative and varied in your material. How to keep your PTC’s lively and engaging. How pitch and pacing is essential. Learned a lot also on watching the showreel back. The people on the course were lovely and there was a good social element.

I wanted this to be my first step into my career and wanted to learn from the best. I have gained invaluable experience which will remain the foundation on which I can build in the future. Learning from Peter Purves was an experience that I am sure will be valuable in pursuing my career in presenting and was a genuine pleasure. I have come away from the course wanting to learn more.
All of the equipment was up to date and relevant to the course. It was a very professional environment and I really enjoyed using all of the equipment.  There was a diverse group of students ranging from age to nationality. Everyone was friendly and approachable.

He was great teachers, who shared his wisdom and encouraged and helped me a lot which lead to the making of my fantastic show reels. I would definately recommend the courses. I learnt how to write links and put them onto the autocue for my showreel.  I also learnt how to write a one minute programme using a format used in industry.  Peter is a really nice guy and it was great to learn from someone who has been in the industry for so long. The end product of my showreel is professional and I am very happy with it, everyone I have shown it too has been very impressed by the quality.  Make up artists were at hand for filming and came on location.

This course was an exciting experience for me. Never have I had to write so much, memorize and present without the paper in my hands. Our Tutor was indeed knowledgeable and ready to share his wealth of information. I was forced; in a good way to love the camera, to write concisely well, and enjoy listening to myself present. It was absolutely brilliant. The facilities for this course were good. We had a little technical hitch with the auto cue and the computer controlling it, but it was nothing we couldn’t fix. I would say every student was carried along, helped and made to feel a part of something, which I think is important.  My class was relaxed and ready to learn.

My experience during this cause has improved me so much to communicate with people and to partake in different activities.   The London Academy is rated as one of the most experience in terms of T V presenting and educating people to be confident in them during presenting.    It has all the necessary facilities to encourage young people to learn. Its facilities help in motivating people.

We had a thorough experience of all things ‘presenting’ including a background into TV. I particularly liked how hands-on the whole experience was and we were given a lot of responsibility, putting us in good stead for real life work/situations within the media. Peter, our tutor, was fantastic. The only issue was not having him for the last day of shooting. It was a bit hectic without him.
