1 Planning your editing process.
2 Digitise and import material.
3 Assemble edit by using splice-in and overwrite.
4 Use trim mode to refine your edits.
5 Using video effects (transitions, composite effects, keying, split screens etc.
6 Create and animate titles.
7 Edit and mix audio.
8 Colour correction and finishing.
9 Media management.
10 Export for different exhibition channels (DVD, internet, etc).

Learn the principles of Avid editing using Avid Media Composer. The Avid media training course at London Academy offers evening tutorials and lessons taught by professional avid editors.
