What happens during the course

London Academy students are given the opportunity to use their imagination to create special lighting effects such as lightning, water and candlelight effects, as well as classic portrait lighting. Students also learn how to shape and control light and learn how to use shadow to add shape and texture

It’s the human face that is the common subject on film and tv. Learn how to light the human face well and you will be able to light almost any situation well.

Lighting students will learn the art of using light and shade to convey day or night and to create realistic lighting effects while still having enough level of light to shoot good pictures.

London Academy Students experiment with reflectors and look at different lighting techniques used to suggest darkness while providing interesting lighting for the scene.

The London Academy current TV Production tutors are: Mike Raycroft, John Phillips, Catalin Brylla and Adam Roberts. View the Tutor Page
