Young Producer

This course covers all the essential elements you’ll need to know in order to give you a real grounding in the role of the Producer and provide you with the confidence and inspiration to get your film produced.

Involving lectures and hands-on exercises, students will learn the realities of getting a feature film into production – initial script analysis, budgeting and sourcing finance, development, casting, contracts, legals, co-production options, tax funds/EIS, sales, distribution, insurance, completion bonds.

Suitable for those new to production as well as those with some experience, the course will provide students with a real hands-on sense of what a Producer does and what he has to go through in order to get the cameras rolling. Students will also leave with a valuable list of contacts that they can put to use for their own projects.

The Tutor: Andi Reiss is the director of the critically acclaimed refugee feature docu-drama "Cargo" (which he also produced), and the short films "Sleeper" and "Little Angels" amongst others. He has worked in many different mediums, and on a variety of formats from 35mm to HDV, and is employed as a cinematographer, editor and cartoonist as well as a writer, director and producer.
