Course outline
1. Responsibilities of the Production Team - who does what and when, pre-production, principal photography, post-production, health & safety.
2. Script Breakdown - marking the script, breakdown sheets/strips, stunts, special effects, extras, props, animals, etc.
3. Scheduling - the production stripboard, actors day-out-of-days, shooting schedule.
4. Budgeting - development, above-the-line, below-the-line, post-production, insurance, completion bonds.
5. Casting - talent scheduling and contracts.
6. Crewing - what are the jobs, how to find crew, crew contracts.
7. Location Scouting - finding locations, making arrangements, managing, film commissions, the Film Office.

Production Management Training Course

This course covers the principles and practices of the role of the Production Manager in film and single camera television drama production.

Involving lecture and hands-on exercise students will learn the functions of production management including script breakdown, scheduling, budgeting, locations, cast, crew and paperwork.



Suitable for both the beginner as well as those with film/TV experience who would like to work in this essential discipline of the filmmaking process.



Course tutor profile:

Charles Brescia is a veteran Production Manager and Assistant Director and a member of the Directors Guild of America.

Among his many credits are:the television series Baywatch, Quantum Leap, Hunter, Murder She Wrote and Cheers,the feature films Midnight Run and Coming to America and over 200 music videos and commercials. Charles was also Supervising Producer at MTV(for four years).
