Adobe Flash, Photoshop and Illustrator for Film and Video is an introductory course that teaches the building blocks of animation, graphics and image manipulation - specifically for applications involving film and video.

Please note that this course is not aimed at people who want to develop games, interactive media or web applications.

It is suited for those with a background in film and video production who wish to extend their knowledge base into animating for uses such as titles, effects, visuals (VJ-ing), compositing, transitions and editing

Adobe Flash has been traditionally used for web-based applications. However, due to it’s powerful drawing tools, vector graphics basis, and seamless integration with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, it is now possible to output at DV quality and format the files for further manipulation in After Effects or other compositing software.

For compositors and animators creating titles and credits, Illustrator’s robust typography tools enable them to typeset their text with precision.

With the application of Adobe Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop, it is simple to make captivating motion graphics that can be output in any format used in any editing or compositing software used on the market today.

This course will equip the student with the ability to create visual effects such as 3D motion type, apply animated raster masks, embed animations within one another, run different layer blending modes through their graphics, implement filters, map artwork, gradient meshes and textures to their graphics.

The tutor: Jerry Leer is certified as an Apple trainer and Adobe instructor and can deliver post production training across a a wide range of applications from an introduction level all the way up to cross training experienced post production clients.

Staring in audio post production in the 1980's and moving into video and compositing in early 1990's, Jerry has built up a vast knowledge base of post production that is shared thru his training. As well as delivering training Jerry has been a freelance editor and compositor for over 17 years and works for clients from the BBC to corporate and advertising.
