American Actor Joshua Radnor
Everybody knew Joshua “Josh” Radnor as Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother. He was funny, awkward and in search for his soulmate. Apparently, in real life, Josh is an American actor/director doing his job and enjoying every second of it. He doesn’t stay in the public eye and mostly wants to keep quiet about his personal life. He just does what he does best.
At the Beginning
On July, 29, 1974, Alan and Carol Radnor gave birth to a baby boy they named Joshua “Josh: Radnor Columbus, Ohio. His father is a medical malpractice lawyer. He grew up in a suburb in Bexly, Ohio. He is Jewish and has attended Jewish day schools and summer camps. His acting began in school productions and became active at it. He finished high school in Bexly High School. His affection for acting has never stopped so he pursued his higher education at Kenyon College where he was given a Paul Newman Award by his school’s theatre department. He took his master of fine arts degree in acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and finished it.
Josh hasn’t really had his acting career peak yet. Josh concentrated on his school and finished it first before he began acting on the screen. Guest appearances began Josh’s screen acting at the age of 26. His first guest appearance was in a short-lived comedy Welcome to New York in 2000. In 2001 he got the role of a tourist guide in a film parody Not Another Teen Movie. This gave him a good kick off to his career and got the lead role in the WB sitcom Off Centre, unfortunately it was given to Eddie Kaye Thomas. Josh made his debut in Broadway when he appeared in the stage version of movie The Graduate. Few years after that, he continued to appear as guest in tv series such as Six Feet Under as Will Jaffe, ER as Keith, Judging Amy as Justin Barr, and Miss Match as Andrew. In 2005, he was cast in his biggest role yet as Ted Mosby in a CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother. This did good to his career and things became somehow smooth for him. He got the role in the play Flinks opposite Jennifer Westfeldt of the New York Stage and Film. It was written by Joe Glifford and directed by Charlie Stratton. His debut as a director, however, was made in his film Happythankyoumoreplease, where he also played the role of Sam, in 2010 and won an Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival.
On the Side Note
He was a speaker to 2008 graduating class of his alma mater in Bexley High School.
He is allergic to dogs.
He voiced over Ted Mosby in Family Guy
He especially loves his role as Ted Mosby in How I Met Your Mother and told Starpulse “I think the show is incredibly romantic and not just about romance. You know, Marshall [Jason Segel] and Lily [Alyson Hannigan] go through stuff, but ultimately, that’s an iron clad bond they have. It’s romantic about the city, it’s romantic about friendship, it’s romantic about a certain time in your life. It’s self-aware enough to know that people are cynical and that’s a kind of mode a lot of people of our generation, but it’s over-arching M.O. is sincerity and nostalgia. It’s kind of interested in subverting a lot of assumptions of what people that age are supposed to be like; in that way it’s more honest of what people are like.”
